Red Russian (or Russian Red),
Red Russian is a very rare tobacco.
This tobacco is a short plant that grows to approximately 3-3.5ft and produces a low tobacco yield.
Red Russian is usually used as an ornamental plant due to its small yield and beautiful magenta flowers.
Use and Flavor:
Even though there is limited data on the smokeability of this tobacco, but we have personally put it to the test.
It produces a very earthy, leafy taste with slight hints of cinnamon and a little spice. It is a medium/full body tobacco with a relatively high content of nicotine.
Red Russian leafs cure to a light red color.
This tobacco is great cigarette and pipe tobacco, there is also data to suggest that it makes a very successful chew tobacco.
This tobacco grows to approximately 3-3.5 ft tall in high quality soils, the leaves it produces are heavy and cure to a light color.
It is a low yield plant and it grows quickly in most soil and climatic conditions.
It produces intense pink flowers.
Plant matures and tobacco is ready to harvest in 40-50 days post transplant.
